GS.0204L
LARGE SIZE WELDING CHAMBER

The chamber is constructed throughout from 316 stainless steel. It consists of two adjoining cells:-

The Working Cell - 1100mm long x 1100mm wide x 940mm high
The Loading Cell - 600mm long x 500mm wide x 600mm high.

The two cells are separated from each other by a rectangular hinged door fitted with a silicone rubber seal, and secured by a single four spoke wheel easily accessed by the operator from within the working cell.

The working cell has a single full width door at one end sealed by a silicone rubber seal and secured by sixteen over-centre clamps. The door is hinged on twin double-pivot Stainless Steel hinges fitted with dry-film bearings.

The loading cell is attached to the opposite end of the working cell to the main door and is rectangular in section. An optional feature for the loading bay is a wheeled pallet system which enables the operator to pull heavy fixtures/workpieces into the working chamber without assistance.

If this feature is not required the loading chamber can be fitted with the standard sliding tray system. The loading chamber has a rectangular external access door hinged and sealed in the same way as the main working chamber door.

The working cell is fitted with two clear laminated glass observation windows [ 800mm long x 360mm high x 6.35mm thick] angled at 5 deg To the vertical. Each window is fitted with a sliding [shade 10 filter glass] allowing the operator to work without a conventional helmet.

Lighting is provided by two twin tube fluorescent light boxes fitted above clear laminated glass windows [ 800mm long x 140mm wide x 4.5mm thick ] situated in the top of the chamber.

The operator is provided with five glove ports, two for welding and three equi-spaced along the chamber back for manipulation of materials within the chamber.

The ports are 200mm dia. And are fitted with neoprene gauntlets 800mm long.

Purging is achieved by exhausting the air with a Gast Regenerative air pump and simultaneously introducing Argon gas at the rate of 10cfm. Chamber pressure is monitored and controlled by a Dwyer differential pressure gauge.

Oxygen level monitoring points are provided in both cells and are supplied as standard to fit the VBC OMI Self-calibrating purge monitor.

Typical purge Values are (When Door Closed):

MAIN CELL

40 Min - (To achieve zero O2)

10 cu.ft./min

LOADING CELL

20 Min - (To achieve zero O2)

1 cu.ft./min

Key Features:

• Ability to weld large components (up to 800mm x 800mm x 600mm high)

• Ability to move components up to 450mm cube through the loading cell.

• Space within the working cell to store materials prior to welding and completed work, this reduces the number of door openings per working shift, saving time and gas.

General:

The GSO204 and GSO204L Chambers are built to order and can be customised.
